Roblin/Hall/Valdivia

Pianist/keyboardist Diane Roblin has a monthly Sunday-night spot at Toronto’s Tranzac Club, where she invites various musicians to engage and explore free jazz music, sometimes her music, often compositions of others.

To one of her sessions, she invited tenor saxophonist Glen Hall and drummer Brandon Miguel Valdivia.  The rapport was instant and inspired.

Since then, they continue their intermittent performances, playing compositions by Carla Bley, Ornette Coleman and Hall, a couple of pieces by Roblin, and group-created improvisations of deeply felt expressiveness and spontaneous structure and melody.
