Our art form/genre of collaborative trio of Bill Gilliam, Glen Hall and Joe Sorbara is improvised electroacoustic new music and experimental jazz composition.
We pursue our art to spontaneously create improvised, cohesive musical compositions that seamlessly merge the boundaries between new music tonalities, electro-acoustic innovation, experimental jazz idioms and extended performance techniques on our instruments.
Each of us in this ensemble are experienced professional composers and improvisors capable of conceiving, planning and performing a complete solo show of improvised music. As a trio we find our levels of collaboration deepen and broaden our range of expression which engenders fertile possibilities for the types innovative musical compositions we are looking to create.
Our art is influenced by leading international improvisors, 20th century orchestral new music, experimental chamber music, contemporary art, sculpture, film, photography, multi media as well as social and humanitarian issues, poetry, literature and other expressions of 21st century culture.
We are very experienced experimental composers and performers who have had our written compositions and improvised pieces and spoken word and mixed media shows performed by new music and contemporary jazz ensembles such as Toronto Improvisors Orchestra, Audiopollination at Array Space, Musideum, Gallery 345, The Music Gallery, Tranzac, Nuite Blanche as well as new music and contemporary jazz festivals in Toronto, Guelph, Ontario, Vermont, Montreal, Calgary, Edmonton, USA, Amsterdam and Siberia.
